Up until recently, I didn’t think it was important as the feds pretty much couldn’t get at property to tax it unless it’s maybe section 8 qualified.
Then it started to get a lot of play here and elsewhere from mostly righty sites...some even cited pages and sections which turned out to be wrong.
I was searching for that last night. All the sites that debunked were lefty.
I used “biden 3% federal housing tax” as a search.

You can roughly calculate the closing cost for buying a house using a conventional mortage as 3% of the purchase price. So if you buy a new house for $300000 your looking at about $9000 in closing cost. I don’t think a 3% yearly federal housing tax has much of a chance of flying.
