By all accounts, Ruggs was never a thug. He was even on the good side while at Alabama. His best friend was killed in a car crash in high school.
That said, what he’s gotten himself into just sucks. I really believe younger people today have a distorted view of risk and responsibility.
The only thing I would agree to see would be, when purchasing any car like that, the buyer take a driving course. You have guys who haven’t ever been in cars like that and then all of a sudden they get one and don’t understand what the car is capable of.
The man who found my first 911, took me out in an empty parking lot the when it was delivered, in the rain, and then showed me how easy it was to spin it / lose the rear end.
Yes I saw the touching documentary about that from a year ago! It also features Ruggs' mother as well as that of the friend's. SO SAD, the devastating irony of it all...
All the engine weight behind the rear wheels can be a dangerous thing in that kind of car.
