MIL’s 88th birthday is approaching. Husband and I will be returning to SW VA this week for a period of time. Bittersweet.

That can’t be emphasized enough in these times. My bridge club in Buffalo, NY, opened yesterday for in-person play. It had been closed since March 2020. There were 40 people who attended the game, about 15 of whom are Jewish. The current President is Jewish and she is a walking and talking bundle of fear when it comes to covid, so she used her influence to enact a rule that players have to be vaccinated to attend games going forward and have to show proof of that when they register for the game.
I’m having a lot of trouble understanding the thinking that goes into being appalled at having to show papers in Nazi Germany and being certain it’s correct to have to show papers at our bridge club. This doesn’t affect me directly yet because I still can’t cross the border in a car, and I can’t cross now in a plane either because I’m not jabbed, but it alarms me that people can’t see what’s happening ... the very people who said Never Again!

Pfizer founded an R&D facility in Wuhan (October 8, 2010) at China’s National Bio-industry Base in Wuhan (Biolake). It was the first Fortune 500 company to located at Wuhan’s Biolake facility. By 2015, Pfizer was moving its “medicine safety business” (whatever that means) from India to the Wuhan Biolake facility.
