"Almost all the kids coming to the door on Halloween night were lethargic. I actually had to remind most of them to say "Trick or Treat". Seriously. Talk about lazy. Just expected the candy like they were entitled to it."

Boy you're not kidding! It was weird tonight, not like normal halloweens.

It was just the opposite for us. There are so many kids in my son’s neighborhood and it was like a block party. It was the first time they’ve given out candy. My son and his wife dressed as James and Lily Potter and had the baby dressed as a baby Harry Potter.

A lot of the houses were decorated, someone was playing music. Someone else had horror movies playing on their garage door. Parents and kids were everywhere.

The kids were so cute and so excited. It reminded me of the old days when my own were small. If felt normal. It felt great to feel that way.

I suppose for many kids, having been through the past 1.5 years (perhaps a fourth of their entire lifetime at this point), their mental state would be comparable to kids plucked out of the Nazi Death Camps.
