You know, if the universe were an eruption of space and time within a black hole we would be still surrounded by the stuff of the black hole on all sides around us. Would that look like dark matter?
And to those on the outside of the black hole we were in would they see a black hole so utterly massive (puffed up bury our universe’s presence) that it defied any method by which a black hole in the universe they know to eat it’s way to the apparent size in the time they assume has been available?
Side note: astronomers infer the size and mass of black holes based on their event horizon … but an expanding space/time within a black hole could possibly puff it up without having to eat that much to get to that size. And we do have astronomers wondering about black holes far larger than they think should be possible.
Some say our universe is a certain age because that is what we can ‘see.’ Who is to say what is beyond what we can ‘see’ today? Tomorrow, or in 200 years, we may see further, more, etc. The Earth may be about 4, 5 billion years old. The universe we ‘know’, we can ‘see’ may be 13-15 billion years old. Some of the stuff we know and see is backed up by rock-solid, real science. Some is conjecture and extrapolation from things we know. Then, we have speculation, maybe, perhaps, etc. Some of the maybe items might someday be more provable; others not. God gave us these amazing minds and brains, to use, to help others, and to explore this magnificent universe.
Yeah, the particle guys might have to yield some ground on the next step. This is the fabric of spacetime. It has physical properties. A highway is not a car, but it does exist.
