Several times Al Gore’s meetings encountered blizzards. Probably one reason they revamped the idea to “climate change.” Global warming was a silly description.

Note that the link said “the UK metoffice said parts of the UK could saw (meant see) tornadoes.” I don’t think there were in fact any tornadoes, none were reported in discussions on the UK weather forum Net-weather. The strong winds of course were real enough.

Britain does see fairly weak tornadic activity at times but there are two or three historical reports of F2 or even F3 damage trails, often in the London area which in climate terms is probably most suited for that sort of development. There are also occasionally F2 or F3 tornadoes in continental Europe and Russia, in fact an F4 on one occasion east of Moscow did a lot of damage in the city of Gorki in 1984.
