Maybe it’s because in the months following vaccination, people are more cautious. They’ve had 30 or 45 days of behavioral modification during the vaccination process, aware that they are still vulnerable to infection until the vaccine can kick in, and that may carry on for several months afterwards in avoiding groups of strangers, personal hygiene, etc.. Whereas, risktakers have no rationale to modify their behavior, and may in fact, be more prone to expose themselves to groups of strangers. And then there’s the age factor - the older and wiser are more vaccinated and the young and bullet proof aren’t.
