Great point. I keep asking what is wrong with my family: My wife and I have had the jab three times, including the booster, and we personally know at least 200 people in various age groups who have been fully vaccinated, and the worst side effect has been a boo-boo at the injection site and in a few cases (me included), mild flu-like symptoms that lasted 12 to 18 hours. We don't know anyone who has died or been hospitalized by the jab or know anyone who personally knows anyone who has died or been hospitalized by the jab.
With that said, I am sure there are a few thousand people out of the nearly 500 million jabs, who have died or who have suffered life threatening side effects, just like the few thousand people who die each year from statistically rare events like lightening strikes, shark attacks, bee stings, and snake bites. But the statistical chances of death or life threatening side effects from the Covid jab are so low, that I am willing to risk the jab, just like I am willing to risk the threat of lightening, sharks, bees, and snakes whenever I leave the house.
As a conservative libertarian, I am opposed to jab mandates and I really don't care if you get the jab or not, and I am not going to criticize anyone who declines the jab. I would appreciate the same level of respect for those who voluntarily choose to get the jab, particularly from the anti-vaxxers who abuse tobacco, alcohol, or drugs, or who are fat or otherwise live an unhealthy lifestyle.
