I downloaded the pdf and searched by that phrase “By objecting to this bill, my colleague is suggesting that it’s acceptable for the government to deny Social Security checks”, and didn’t find it.

I widened the search by just looking for ‘Social Security’, and none of the returns had the phrase in it.

I am at a loss as to what to do next.

You could always reach out to Senator Scotts office and ask his staff about the social security concern. They may be able to answer your questions and point you to the correct bill.
