It really depends on how quickly people's immune systems are being degraded. I think the jury is still out on this. If people's immune systems are being slowly weakened, it doesn't mean they will just get sick and die immediately, but it could mean they will catch a cold and flu much more easily this winter, and may have a much harder time fighting it...
