They all seem to change .. the 'stuff' that they can do and their prices ... within minutes of my choosing one!π«
I am poor and I am cheap....what’s out there for me....
Iβd get like an iphone 8 plus. Probably a bit more than $200, but easy for older/slower cell phone users to use and learn. Apple makes it easy.
I bought a good used iPhone from Swappa. I have also bought them from Gazelle.
The price is usually better with Swappa. Find an adequate one still expected to have support for a while.
If you just gotta do below $200, a moto e is a good choice. I think it is around $119 and honestly it will do everything you want a phone to do.
I got an older generation Iphone new in the box on ebay for $125.00 and a $99.00 a year plan from Redpocket ($8.25 a month)
Having had both “smart” and “flip,” I’d advise a shiny new flip phone.
Flip phones are awesome.
You get so much more done when you’re not staring at a screen all day, like seemingly half the population.
I noticed the link is to an international version. Don’t get an international version. Get one built for the US.
Any midrange phone will give you near performance of a high-end phone, for your purposes, at a third of the price. You can nearly afford to replace a mid-range phone yearly and it gives about the same performance as a high-end that’s about two years old.
You, unless you’re a gamer or 4k video watcher, won’t notice a performance difference.
Go Moto, I own their stock.
ATT & Verizon have plenty of deals, drop into a “Corporate store”, not a resellers store.
Ask if they are Corp,if not leave
Be careful with purchasing older Apple products. Many times of the apps will not run on them. Have an old iPad and am experiencing this now.
“Freddie Mercury” sings: “I’m just a Flip Phone,
nobody loves me!”
I don’t use apps, so not an issue for me.
You did good, Lurk. iPhones are the baseline and have great cameras.
An android alternative for the OP to consider include Samsung, i.e S9 which run in ballpark of $200 or so.
Something to be aware of with old phones is that the 3G network will be discontinued by all carriers sometime in 2022. If you have a 4G phone, it falls back on 3G if it has to, like when there is a weak signal. I suspect the performance of an old 4G phone will be poor in some circumstances once there is no 3G network to fall back on. I plan on getting a 5G/4G phone before too long as my phone is really old and I don’t think it will be as usable soon.
Donβt feel bad. My cell phone is so old Iβm still on a party line!
I actually got the Redpocket on sale for $84.00, $7.00 a month, never thought I could get cell service so cheap.
