It’s no longer Scientific,
nor American.
That was part of an opinion article, not a scientific paper, and it was more of an aside, not the main point. The emphasis appears to be more on the idea that we could advance to the point where we could create a new universe, not so much that another civilization had invented ours. It’s crazy, I know, but the Futurism article isn’t fair to the scientist, strictly speaking.
That adjective has tranmsmogrified from a certain set of ideals exemplified in the Declaration of Independence, to a geographic location.
