Beef slide.....

How big a freezer do you have to store that 1/4 of a cow?

Curious as I might consider buying a smallish freezer and buying direct rather than through the grocery. But, it’s only me and I’m also concerned that I’ll be able to eat the entire amount in the allotted time (the time in which it’ll keep in the freezer without deteriorating/spoiling - I know that properly wrapped and frozen, it’ll last quite a while).

I like good beef and I can’t deny it.....

A 1/4 beef needs about 4 cubic feet. You should plan for at least 16-17 cu.ft. freezer space for a whole beef A good rule of thumb is one cubic foot of freezer space for every 35 – 40 pounds of packaged meat. A quarter of beef will easily fit into a 5 -7 cubic foot chest freezer.
