At Lowe's an employee told me he was looking for another job. A lot have left already, the experienced ones who know what you need.
He said the reason was, new hires were getting bonuses and higher pay, while those who have been loyal, working through the covid mess get nothing.
I'd quit too.

Well..if you were in CA, you could juss simply grab whatever you needed and walk right out the door.
A person can swipe quite a bit of lumber for 900 bucks for your DIY project.
