Yup. He was also buddies with Glen Campbell.
I read in Paul Stanley’s autobiography that Alice once told them “What you guys need is a gimmick”.
I saw the same concert. A helicopter buzzed the crowd and dropped I think it was posters. Really a great show. Eagles were on first as I recall.
Lol! I have that on an 8 track tape!
He is a Christian, a golfer, and very down to earth.
I like his radio show.
“Schools Out” was our theme at the end of each school year from 72-76. I’ve listened to that tune 500+ times I’d bet.
“I’m Eighteen” is a nearly perfect rock song.
In 2006, a co-worker and I were in Phoenix at a technical conference and we somehow ended up at his Cooperstown restaurant... I think it was actually within walking distance from our hotel. Anyway, we were about done with dinner when I spied Alice Cooper strolling through the restaurant talking to patrons here and there. He ended up at our table where we chatted with him for 15 minutes or so. The guy with me had just purchased tickets to see him in concert about three weeks later in his home town which was clear on the other side of the country... that was definitely a good kickoff for the conversation but regardless, Alice came across as a really decent guy to chat with... quite down to earth and humble.
When asked about one of the Nixon elections, Alice said “If you are looking at a rock band for advice on how to vote, you shouldn’t be voting” Knew right there he was a Republican.
Long time ago,.,,and I could be wrong....Lot's of pot being smoked around us...
Well, that was the one I went to so my memory of the Eagles is probably from a different one. Not surprising considering how much dope I was smoking back then.
I grew to love that band....
I've some albums of C B and Jo Jo.....as well as Alice...
Ditto that...my FRiend
My first concert, too, the night between my last day of high school and graduation day.

Recently got a dvd from that tour.
Captain Beyond is an old favorite, still have their first album but unfortunately not the 1st edition with 3d picture.
They were actually the first true supergroup.
Rod Evans - original singer for Deep Purple (sang Hush)
Rhino - guitar for Iron Butterfly
Lee Dorman - bass for Iron Butterfly
Bobby Caldwel - drums for Johnny Winter (and one of the best out there)
They got pushed aside by the southern rock craze, their first album, dedicated to the memory of Duanne Allman, (printed at bottom of back cover) was released about the same time as the Allman Brothers hit the scene, and not far behind were Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Lynyrd Skynyrd and a boatload of others. Ozark Mountain Daredevils, ZZ Top...
I copied that first album to computer a while back, now it’s 2 mp3 files, one side each. I couldn’t imagine trying to split all the songs up into seperate ones, when each side has been basically one long song for 40 years...Guess Ineed to pull it up and listen to it again. Definitely on my top 10 albums list, and pretty near the top...
Thousand Days of Yesterdays...Myopic Void...Dancing Madly Backwards...oh yeah...
Never did get to see them, they ever played anywhere near where I was at the time.
I’m sufficiently breathless as I dance madly backwards.
L
Very good band...
