The Delta Variant changes the situation with transmissiblity. Delta infection reaches the same peak of viral load for vaccinated and unvaccinated. However the viral load for vaccinated exists for a shorter period of time making one contagious for a shorter period of time. Also, when a vaccinated person is infected with the Delta Variant, they will get natural immunity that will add to the immunity they have with the vaccine with less serious illness.

I’ve seen no studies supporting this hypothesis.

All I can find is scattered reports of destruction of natural immunity by the vaccine.
