I have a nice set of stainless steel cookware, i didn’t know about seasoning then like iron. I just use them mostly to cook things that don’t stick.
Thanks! A graph is worth a thousand words!
If the media won’t, and GOP politicians are cut of, we the people need to demand national security! Grannies unite!
Quite the collection.
I am finding it so interesting how things change as we age, and “stuff” that used to be so important just doesn’t matter as much. It’s been difficult letting go of things, but it just has to be done. I had to face the fact that I just wasn’t going to use a lot of the dishes, pots, pans, etc. any longer. I don’t do any of the dinners for the family gatherings any longer - we’ve been doing them at my daughter’s place for a few years now. More room for the kids, etc. I merely contribute by making pies or cobblers or peeling potatoes, chopping veggies, etc. It’s nice to no longer be responsible for the whole shebang.
One of the toughest things I had to do was throw out all of my kids’ home school work. It was a long time ago and I had made up all of the lessons and the work pages by hand, sitting in the school room every night, often til 11 or 12 midnight. So many books, so many math workbooks, so many spelling pages. It was fun to go through them with the kids and look at all of the funny and endearing things they wrote.
One of my son’s books was his book of lines. I gave them lines to write when they misbehaved lol. As we looked at his book about a year ago, we noticed a small change in the line he was given. I instructed him to print “I will watch what I say and not be mean or rude to my sister.” Well, we noticed that part way down his page, he added “annoying” in front of sister for the rest of the way down the page. Lol I hadn’t even noticed it before. He hasn’t changed a bit. He turns 33 tomorrow. Wow. Where does the time go?
So I made a sweet deal with my grandson. He will vacuum and mop my house whenever I want for only $4. This move just keeps getting better and better!
I’d be curious to know what size it is! I would think about buying it from you, but the shipping charges would be through the roof lol.
Just measured, 14” at bottom. I thought it was bigger than that, but bigger than an average one. The problem with a big skillet is, if you’re cooking on stove burners, it fits on 2, but you have to keep turning for even heat. They are perfect on a fire grill.
Sad to be in that predicament. When my son got his vaccine they were new, he got the 1 shot kind. Now that more info has come out, I’m going to warn him about getting anymore.
I didn’t know there was any other way to cook cornbread other than in an iron skillet.
I'm just hoping this will be the WAKE UP CALL that our National Intelligence Community needs.
Or we Grannies may need to go kick some booty.
Oh no, prayers up. How old is she, had previous problems?
That’s awful, Gran.
I have noted a few cases of people becoming ill shortly after being jabbed.
My friend’s VERY healthy husband suddenly needed a pacemaker put in - he’s not even 70 and the epitome of health. Never an issue in the past.
Another friend’s husband got a serious kidney stone attack and has been sick as a dog all summer. He goes in for some kind of surgery next week, finally (gotta love that socialized medicine). Again, epitome of health, active, 74 years old and recently jabbed.
Another neighbour at the cottage is now going through kidney failure. He’s shutting down - but he is 80 years old and did get the jab. He’s was a pretty well-known surgeon in our area - did some amazing “repairs” on people.
I’m sure not everything is jab related, but it sure make you wonder whenever you hear of these things.
I put the iron skillet in the oven, with a good 2T of bacon grease, once oven is heated.
When grease is melted (in just a minute, or two) I (carefully) take out skillet and add cb batter, then bake. The bacon grease is baked into the cornbread and gives it the most amazing “crust”.
So good with a pot of pinto beans, soup, etc.
I had to do an obligatory (bacon) ping, to exit 😂
My gosh Judy, I could have written your post about myself. I got too busy in life to put pictures in albums, so I have pretty hat boxes full of pictures. I have 3 wicker luggage full of kids and grands art work. Bought huge manilla envelopes to put names and enclose relevant stuff. I started a couple. My oldest daughter made a book at school about her mom. She wrote that her mom lays on the couch and watches TV at night, and sometimes goes to sleep, unless “ER” is on, lol.
The funniest thing you wrote is about having you son write sentences, because I had one of my sons do that too! I have some in my boxes and wi,, give some to his kids.
I love the story of going through these “memories” with the kids.
Yes, it is just “stuff” but it is priceless stuff, I found that out the hard way, fire doesn’t differentiate on the good and the who cares stuff.
Going through boxes of my mama’s “stuff” I found some priceless things I hope to pass on to the kids.
14” at bottom. I’d give it to you if the shipping wasn’t a fortune.
And what makes it worse, after Taliban and now China, China and the whole world knows we’re clueless.
Prayers for all those folks.
Thanks for the tip! Last night my DIL cooked 15 bean soup with ham, and skillet cornbread. I’ll share that tip with her.
Don't know exactly what those [BLEEP]s are "pushing for".
....and no, I'm not going to finish posting anything I've been thinking on that subject.
Son’s boss had a heart attack, wife isn’t well either.
They are in there 40’s and no, he had no known heart problems.
