They wouldn't be bringing in medics, they would be bringing in qualified doctors and nurses.
Bet they don’t have much experience with geriatric patients. And as someone who’s spent some time with elderly loved ones in hospitals, newbies are not who I’d want taking care of those patients.
And we’re talking National Guard here. The doctors and nurses in the National Guard already work full time somewhere in their regular jobs, so they would likely be pulling them away from where they usually work. Which means that they would be pulled away from other patients who need them.
Seems kind of strange to me that full time Doctors and Nurses would bother to enlist in the National Guard.
