I’ve been using a neti pot with simple non-iodized salt and warm water for over a decade and can count on one hand the number of respiratory infections I’ve had. Nasal irrigation is very common in southeast Asia as well and may be a sanitation ritual lending to the reduction in infections in places like India.

On a similar subject I’ve used a Budesonide inhaler for a while. The VA just replaced everybody’s prescription of it with Fluticasone Propionate/Salmetrol. No idea what this means but I often heard Budesonide mentioned as part of a good regimen to prevent COVID. I hope that wasn’t the reason for the change.
