Nebraska football fans are amazingly gracious. They will love the team no matter what. In other news, UCLA lost to Fresno. I don’t blame the coaches, since the best players control the game.
I love tthe Sooners. Class act no matter what phase they’re in. We always rooted for them. When The Huskers were great and the Black Shirts were awesome, we always wanted the Sooners to be at the top of their game. Nobody in the Big 8 wanted any weak teams.
Lifelong Husker fan here. Tom Osbourne was awesome but the real loss was when Charlie McBride left as assistant coach.

No “u” in Osborne.
Bring back Pelini. At least he could win 9 games a year. Frost will never do that.
But please those white OU helmets are just wrong.
Why did Schiano leave?? Five times the salary from the Tampa Bay Bucs...why did Beliema leave Wisconsin?
How much does Tennessee wish they never hired/fired Schiano in the course of three days?? Remember- Rutgers was a bad missed field goal from beating Michigan in overtime last year.
The good old days. Now with teams bailing on conferences right and left, a lot of the old rivalries are gone.
Goes to show that the NCAA is not running things any more. Conferences have all power - and much of it due to TV revenue
Nearly every team in the BIG is in just as cold a climate as Nebraska, please quit using that excuse. It didn’t bother Bob Devany or Tom Osborne, and it doesn’t bother Ohio St, Penn St., Michigan, come on…
Lot of truth to that. It was said of Bill Snyder that he made a career of beating your 5* recruits with 2-3* attitudes with his team of 2-3* recruits with 5* attitudes. A cfb coach can be successful with solid offensive and defensive schemes and then recruiting guys that fit.
Part of the reason Pittman is successful at Arky, is for years he was one of the best OL coaches in the business.
I always said, if I was starting a football team from scratch, the first guy I hire is the best OL coach I can find. Because a good OL coach can make a team competitive.
Likely for the same reason that Gary Anderson left.
It’s also a balancing act with guys who expect to be playing on Sundays, they are more concerned with not getting hurt or doing anything that could jeopardize their NFL career, they put themselves about the team.
Yikes! 😖 Ok. No excuse intended. Just a simple reason suggested. That’s all.
Peace.
💥🎯Television revenues.
Anderson left when the Oregon State job opened up. I don’t even think he was getting more $$$ but he’s a west coast guy- and that ended in disaster like Beliema at Arkansas.

Looking at the geography, Nebraska IS the southernmost location in the B1G.
That might be the publicly-stated reason. What HC would leave Wisconsin to go to Oregon State, west coast guy or not? That would be leaving what is probably the #4 job in the B1G (behind tOSU, Michigan, PSU) for the #12 job in the Pac-12 and probably about the lowest-rated P5 job in the country.
A guy who came from Utah State- that’s who
