Sigh
She lost a great deal of credibility with assertion that polyethylene glycol (PEG) is “antifreeze”
PEG is definitely not antifreeze and is used extensively in medicine. It is the largest ingredient of commercially used bowel cleansing preps and is essentially non toxic although must be used with cautions in certain patient subsets.
Ethylene glycol (major difference in toxicity) is antifreeze. It will kill your dog in small amounts Any doc should know the difference.
Maybe she doesn’t order colonoscopies on her young patient population?
The rest of the statement is quite good.
“She lost a great deal of credibility with assertion that polyethylene glycol (PEG) is “antifreeze”
She is correct and probably guilty of not being concise. Polyethylene glycol is a base ingredient in one type of antifreeze, namely the “environmentally-friendly” types. Of course, it is less efficient than the ethylene glycol based antifreeze’s that have been around for decades.
