I didn’t fear contracting Covid. Statistically the odds are in my favor I wouldn’t contract it, however, if I did the odds were also in my favor I’d weather it well. My concern was passing it on to those I have close contact with who were vulnerable.
I also didn’t fear the vaccine. My decision to wait so long to get it was because I didn’t think it was needed - until delta. My getting the vax was just another level of protection for those who were vulnerable in my circle.
Others make a different decision concerning the vax and that is their right. Many in my circle aren’t vaxed, some are. Difference of choice hasn’t separated us. I hope it doesn’t in the future. That’s why it is so important for all of us to fight together against the mandates and restrictions that are being imposed, mainly on the unvaxed.
