One of the Australian police officers stated that their families are being threatened if the officers don’t do as they’re being told. I don’t know the nature of the threats against the officers, and I’d like to think I wouldn’t behave abusively if I were one of them, but my son’s life and any children he had might sorely test my purity of principle.

It’s also likely that those who couldn’t go along with being abusive and cruel left their jobs, and the new hires are psychologically well-suited for the new job description, much like some German concentration camp workers were 80 years ago.

Maybe those cops should have a little fear for what they’re doing to innocent people.

It would be a shame if some (or many, or most) of the abusive officers just used "I was threatened / my family was threatened" as a convenient, catch-all excuse to cover their butts. Those who do, probably assume everyone will automatically believe whatever they say, and never call it into question.

Not really any different than our current crap (oops -- "crop") of politicians.
