Lipitor is a cholesterol drug, not an anticoagulant. Anticoagulants like warfarin thin the blood, and Lipitor is used to lower “bad” cholesterol.
Lipitor has some ugly side-effects. Especially the problems it can cause with memory loss.
Niacin also has been used quite successfully for lowering bad cholesterol, BTW. The studies can be looked up.
Yes, am aware of Lipitor AEs and MOA, niacin use, etc. However, one should not abandon one’s anti-coag therapy based on the blog of a guy on the internet. Have your therapy monitored. Stroke, PE, and MI are serious downstream events that could result from discontinuation of anti-coag therapy.
