That’s a rather clickbait-y title, compared to the actual video content. I’m surprised, as Bushcraft Bear has been a very good source of on-the-ground reporting. He is not, however, a native! I’ve been trying (in vain) to figure out his nationality. While in the Canaries, I knew people of many different cultures, but none who spoke English with that accent or pronounced Vs as Ws like he does.

Speaking of the volcano, I was reminded at the very beginning of all this of an acquaintance of mine from when I was in my mid 20s and lived on Tenerife. The guy was close to my age, and had come there from the mainland (Valencia, if memory serves - not sure, though). He was a friend of a mutual friend, and he and his girlfriend were often in that friend’s home at the same time that I was. And he was studying, of all things, vulcanology! So, who did I find while looking on YouTube this past week for La Palma volcano videos? You guessed it, the same guy.
