Also, the classic British sci fi always had a bit of horror in it. Films such as “Five Million Years to Earth” and “Day of the Trifids.”

Yep...and there's plenty more like that. I'm glad I was born when I was. I might be old, and we didn't have a car, but we had plenty of fantastic black and white horror movies at the local theaters we got to see, and wholesome tv shows to keep us entertained...not to mention board games, playing cowboys and Indians, hide and seek, dodge ball, etc. The 50's were a special time.
