Homicide means not suicide, yes?

Not necessarily. It just means the death was caused by a human being, rather than by an accident or natural causes. Technically a suicide also qualifies as homicide.

Not necessarily. Merriam-Webster defines suicide: the act or an instance of taking one's own life voluntarily and intentionally. A homicide is the killing of a person. Animals have been known to deliberately kill themselves; and, that wouldn't be homicide.
