Speculation has been that if the Cumbre Vieja volcano were to blow in a big fashion, causing a major landslide and subsequent mega-tsunami, it would cause a major hit to the east coast of the U.S.

That is most interesting. Very detailed speculations on a mega disaster. It would either be nothing or way worse. The insurance companies only think in there territory by risk. This would be a global event.
Then perhaps Yellowstone pops. And we get a double D for disaster. And watch for some meatloaf to hit us.
