I guess the damage stays local unless a big chunk of the island falls off, right? Which would require a huge EQ. I am sorry for the people of the island and for everyone’s sake no big EQ.

It could happen with no earthquake. Dozens of situations could cut it loose. Further fissuring, water/rain, inflation or deflation of magma chamber. For that matter the only thing keeping that place from going Krakatoa or Santorini is the fact that a lot of water isn’t dumped into the magma chamber or conduits to surface…
