The fiancé of missing 'van-life' woman Gabby Petito presents himself as a sweet and caring guy, but is actually jealous and controlling, her friend has claimed in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com.
Rose Davis said Brian Laundrie, 23, allegedly went so far as to hide Gabby's ID once so that she couldn't meet up with her at a bar, triggering a violent episode similar to the one police investigated weeks before her disappearance.
'Brian took her ID just so she wouldn't be able to come out with me,' she told DailyMail.com on Friday.
'He's got these jealousy issues and he struggles from what Gabby called these "episodes," where he would hear things and hear voices and wouldn't sleep.

Why Linda of course
Howlin
She made it her quest to get me and Matt bracken and marine inspector and jackelope breeder zotted in the amnesty wars here before the Giuliani mad Ivan exodus which brought us back
She was successful
Of course she moved on to wideawakes and acted natural there too I heard
Me and Matt were allowed back....in 2007 I think....
And jacklope passed away and marine inspector refused to come back
Nevertheless I hope Linda rests with God....earthly quarrels are petty in relation
There is indeed a contingent of freeper women who are pretty well known on this thread....no question
I think it’s certainly circumstantial as hell this young man killed her
Is there evidence he killed the lesbians too?
Hearing voices can be ominous
The police have ruled out that Laundrie had anything to do with the lesbian murders.
It possible that they kept quarreling and he simply drove away and left her. My Post 95: It was her van and he locked her out. The witness saw her force her way into the van by crawling over him to the passenger side. An article, don’t remember which, also said that she told police that she didn’t want him to leave her AGAIN. Sounds like he’s done it before.
Heard it too. Brian definitely has passive aggressive control issues.
In the not too distant past the police were inclined to allow victims of domestic violence to refuse to press charges. This required police to leave some people in situations that threatened their well-being when they might have been coerced into not pressing charges.
Many jurisdictions enacted laws which require police to arrest one participant if the other, as in this case, shows signs of injury. The cops spent over an hour finding a way around this law. They decided that Petito’s intent was critical to the necessity of charging her. That is not what the legislature expected to happen in cases like this.
Since Laundrie would have signed a waiver of the “no contact” order the next morning, the police decision perhaps would not have changed a thing.
Give a passive/aggressive control of a person that has anxiety attacks and you can see the tragedy coming.
Keen observation.
Hmmmm
I didn’t know that
Honestly I didn’t even know any of it till yesterday
My wife has followed it since getgo
Says the person playing thread policeperson.
Are you capable of posting anything in this forum that isn’t argumentative?
I posted the thread and invited conjecture. You want to silence it.
Says the person playing thread policeperson.....
I posted the thread and invited conjecture. You want to silence it.
It's a ploy for attention.
Concurring bump...hindsight is always 20/20.
That’s nice. Doesnt match what the two of them told the police.
Not at all. Conjecture is fine. I have pointed out facts and opinions that may be contrary to some people's conjecture, or that they may not be aware of. Sometimes people don't like to hear other opinions. Like my opinion that the police did a good job in their interaction with Ms. Petito and her boyfriend. In fact they really tried to help out the young lady.
Or that I pointed out that just because someone is driving someone else's car that alone does not establish that they stole the car.
People like me who post opinions and facts that challenge other posted opinions and speculation help keep the thread active and worth reading.
You are the one trying to silence opinions you don't want to hear for some reason. why is that?
The problem is you're fact challenged.
Have a lovely day.
No need to guess, you can read what the police said, and their description of what an eyewitness to the confrontation that lead to the traffic stop said in the Daily Mail article here
From the police report:
"All three individuals gave me a similar and consistent story, consisting of the basic idea that the driver of the van, a male, had some sort of argument with the female, Gabbie, as I recall. The male tried to create distance by telling Gabbie to go take a walk to calm down, she didn't want to be separated from the male, and began slapping him. He grabbed her face and pushed her back as she pressed upon him and the van, he tried to lock her outand succeeded except for his driver's door, she opened that and forced her way over him and into the vehicle before it drove off. No one reported that the male struck the female.."
The third person mentioned was the eyewitness to the altercation who called the police. His 911 call lead to the traffic stop a short time later.
Apparently the person having the episode that day was Ms. Petito. You are right that her previous interaction with her boyfriend may have lead to the argument and slapping. Sometimes people get upset at people they love and do things they regret later. Let's hope that the rest of the story of this case isn't an example of that happening at a very tragic level.
She admitted attacking him and there was evidence at the scene that she did.
What’s the matter with you?
“...He grabbed her face and pushed her back as she pressed upon him and the van, he tried to lock her outand succeeded except for his driver’s door, she opened that and forced her way over him and into the vehicle before it drove off. No one reported that the male struck the female..”
“Apparently the person having the episode that day was Ms. Petito.”
“He grabbed her face and pushed her back”.
“... he tried to lock her out” of HER OWN VAN. Apparently he kept her keys from her too.
And you say she was having the “episode” that day.
If someone grabbed my face and pushed me back and tried to lock me out of my own vehicle and kept my keys from me there would be h*ll to pay.
It sounds like he was controlling her aggressively at that point. Threatening to “leave her again”. Cops missed it. Just listen carefully to what was said.
