Todd Garrison, the police chief in North Port, said no criminality is suspected at this time. No physical search teams are currently on the ground as investigators are working to narrow down areas to investigate, he said. "We have resources and law enforcement partners that are out in the field following up tips and leads but as far as a grid search right now, we're still trying to narrow down geographic areas," he said in a news conference Thursday.
Police have said her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, has refused to speak with law enforcement but Garrison said investigators are solely focused on finding Petito. "We share the frustration with the world right now. Two people went on a trip, one person returned and that person that returned isn't providing us with any information," Garrison said. "My focus isn't to bring Brian in right now. My focus is to find Gabby."
Her father, Joe Petito, asked the public to come forward with any information that could help investigators. "I'm asking for help from the parents of Brian and I'm asking for the help of the family members and friends of the Laundrie family as well," Petito said. "Whatever you can do to make sure my daughter comes home, I'm asking for that help. There is nothing else that matters to me now."

why not ask him (or um “ask” him) he knows.
or at least he knows where the last place he saw her was.
He is refusing to provide information....it is within his rights to do so but prospective jurors might not see it that way
She’s dead and Laundrie most likely killed her.
Does anyone know if that converted van was registered in Gabby’s name?
Yes. The van belonged to Gabby.
He has a right to his 5th amendment which I strongly support.
Sketchy? You bet. His defense attorney, oddly I feel bad for the guy. Not looking so good for his client.
Insanity defense, likely.
Give Brian the rubber hose treatment and he will reveal where her body is.
You should call the police and give them your conclusive information.
The “condition” was blacked out in the reporting officer’s report; however, a 2nd officer was on scene initially, then got called away. In his subsequent report, he listed “anxiety” as the ‘condition’.
Evidently, Gabby was crying, sobbing, having trouble breathing the entire time the police were talking to her. Brian had some scratches on his arm.
Podcast with some good info is “Going West” - they did an update the 15th that I saw this morning, after doing an episode with lots of good background info Sept 14th.

I saw elsewhere she claimed to police she was "OCD." I have known a few young women with OCD and the disorder manifests itself such that they are barely able to leave home. They couldn't deal with the stress or disorder of going to school or the grocery store, much less a cross-country trip in a small van.
police have ways...
right now he’s pretty comfortable.
Bring him in for questioning.
charge him for hitting her (on video it sounds) and have him stay at the gray bar hotel.
laving him alone is a sure fire way to keep him quiet.
The NY Post had a few hours ago posted some of the police body cam vids during the domestic violence call.
She was a very confused young woman. Couldn’t focus, rambled on about this and that, crying, claimed OCD.
And she’s a tiny thing, looking like a JR high school student in the back of the police car.
She’s gone, buried somewhere in the wilds....hope her phone and van had GPS turned on...police might be helped in their search.
It seems like they were very poor candidates for the RV lifestyle.
That might have made living in a small van more difficult.

I’d bet a paycheck you’re correct.
yup. need the GPS records from both phones and the car if it had any.
any trips off the beaten path and long stops along that path need to be checked out
My conclusion is that Gabby has/had serious psychological/emotional issues including intense anxiety, perhaps psychosis, etc.. This is OBVIOUS in the video.
Her boyfriend possibly murdered her or somehow abandoned her in the middle of nowhere. This would only intensify her fragile state and lead her to suicide, possibly.
She COULD still be out there alive but I doubt she has the wherewithal to survive.
Not hopeful.
