Lindsey Graham Wants To Invade Afghanistan Again
Fits News ^ | Sep 7, 2021 | Will Folks

Posted on 09/09/2021 3:26:24 PM PDT by upchuck

One week after the “completion” of a botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, American military assets are once again being touted as a means of prosecuting the “War on Terror” in this Islamic nation – which was occupied by American troops for the better part of the last two decades following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The politician offering this bizarre assessment? U.S. senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.

Surprised? Don’t be. Graham’s incessant warmongering has led our nation into any number of military misadventures over the years, but surely his call for a “re-invasion” of Afghanistan ranks among his dumbest ideas ever. Right?

Nonetheless, Graham insists another American invasion of Afghanistan is inevitable due to the reestablishment of a credible terrorist threat against our nation and its allies …

“We will be going back into Afghanistan as we went back into Iraq and Syria,” Graham told a stunned Stephen Sackur of BBC’s Hardtalk over the Labor Day weekend.

“Hang on … are you … you seriously think the United States will once again, in the foreseeable future, put troops back into Afghanistan?” Sackur responded, incredulously.

“We’ll have to,” Graham repeatedly said, cutting off Sackur. “Because the threat will be so large. (Afghanistan) will be a cauldron for radical Islamic behavior.”

Lindsey should pick up his rifle and go there first. Just because that Idiot Biden F’d up the withdrawl from that dung heap doesn’t mean we need to go back into it.

This nation has spent enough wealth and lives there and where was Graham?Safe on his ass in DC doing nothing to benefit this country and its hard working Citizens.

“he is the only Republican to vote for all of Biden’s Judicial appointments with no resistance.” .................... I can only imagine the dossier they have on Lindsey, that is used to guide his votes. (I would think he isn’t the only Republican. Once they accept dirt in Congress, they become soiled and infected. Do as we say or we will expose you.

We stay out of that hornets’ nest. We would have a better outcome by invading North Korea, yet we do not.

The bearded men with burning eyes, after 20 years, have finally re-established themselves. We cannot send help at this time that would not, could not be accepted by the very people being oppressed by the Taliban.

Do whatever stealth measures that can be directed at getting the remaining US citizens and the other oppressed people in Afghanistan out of harm’s way, and let Afghanistan become another Communist Chinese enclave.

Or a political suicide trap.

I know recalls aren’t possible. I know being censured means nothing.

But….a statewide petition to ask for his resignation and declare him Persona Non Grata could do something.

A simple explanation explaining that another invasion of Afghanistan is off the table. Purposefully risking American lives for no reason is off the table, given how nonchalantly he’s willing to sacrifice them like when he explained in 2009. The states disdain for him saying, not too long ago that the mission in Afghanistan was a success. The people’s disdain for his comment that Capitol Police should have used lethal force on more folks at the Capitol on 06Jan.

Wouldn’t take but a few bullet points.

He’ll have two options: listening to the people, resigning and never showing his face in the state again

Giving everyone in the state the finger and staying.

Of course, like here in Georgia, there are plenty of Southern Country Club Republicans and the state GOP that think the world of him.

“Beware the military industrial complex”

Politicians like to blame their votes, that send our armed forces to war on the Military Industrial Complex.

Its laughable.

Industry provides the hardware and tools for a first rate military, those weapons don’t have to be used until our State Department, CIA, and bought off politicians decide we need a war.

Some wars are avoidable while others are unavoidable, which doesn’t change the fact that industry doesn’t “sign off” on the warfare that the executive and legislative branches do.

After that most commercial enterprises support their government and our heroic armed forces.

I know that a lot of Freepers will disagree, but we should not have left and we will be going back.

The war in Afghanistan is not over.

You will find no disagreement from me as far as Bagram is concerned. Should have never ceded the metaphorical “high ground”.

The war in Afghanistan is not over.

It is a shame. The Muslims are a bunch of wackos still stuck in the 7th century with a mindset to match:

- The concept of tolerance is completely lost on them.
- They are still fighting the crusades.
- They are truly barbarians who understand nothing but brute force.

Unfortunately, they are using 21st century toys.
