I’ve owned 5 M1922s over the years and shot a few more (I’m an old codger).
As a rule of thumb; barrels made after ‘37 have so-so accuracy. Barrels made ‘32 to ‘37 are accurate, usually closer to ‘32 the better the accuracy. I have found no difference in original versus rebarreled M1922, except for those with barrels dated after ‘37. My old 9X6 was produced in ‘23 and rebarreled with a ‘35 barrel. Never found one that shot tighter. I’ve heard that A. Pope cut some barrels for M22s, I’ve never seen one. Probably hid in vaults somewhere. Pope did a number of target ‘03s and they were exceptionally accurate. I’ve owned a number of competition Win. 52s that could shot possible all day but there is nothing that excites me like an M1922. Thank you and all the best to you.
Sir, thank you for your advice. I’d like to get an M1922 someday and will definitely look for an older one. God bless!
