April 20, 1999 for my creep birthday.

**************************

Sweet!!

Although, I took a computer class, circa 1985, the ones that required inserting 2 floppy discs to boot, I didn’t actually use a computer until I went to grad school 1990-1993. After the kids were asleep, I’d go to my husband’s office to type, edit, and save my research reports on one of those smaller, squarish discs. When I returned to teaching part time from 1993 to 1996, had to learn to use a Mac for email and lesson plans.

We purchased our very first computer, a Gateway, for Christmas 1999!! - Still have the receipt; yes, I am a packrat. We paid about $2400!

I bought a CompuAdd 386SX laptop in the mid-1990’s and was assured it had all the power I would ever need. I upgraded my RAM to 1M, loved that little machine.

I really liked CompuAdd machines, but they could not compete against Dell.
