I’m interested in the black seed oil for prevention but also for the additional benefit of less joint pain. Do you have to take the melatonin at the same time or could one do black seed in the morning and melatonin in the evening? What do you think?

I’m not that familiar with blackseed oil. But you take the melatonin 7-15 mins before the niacin. If you have either in a gel cap, remove it and dissolve in water (which is best anyway). Veg caps are ok, but dissolved in water is beast.
PS I’m hearing from the boards that if you do little exercise when you take the niacin, there is less flushing.
