One big one is trucking. The older drivers said “to hell with it” after the trial covid martial law thing.
I know for a fact that the big trucking companies have screwed the industry up by not opposing the newest EPA regulations like they should have. So now you have fewer independents out there.
Who the hell wants to work for a company that advertises “home weekends” and then when they send you out, your lucky to get back home for 2 to 3 months.
“We need you to take this load to there. It is imperative that you take that load.”
Then you have to have an “Appointment” to get unloaded and some of the time you run into a bastard of a dock supervisor who makes it hell for you.
Talked to a jr domo at the local Meijer (supermarket) yesterday. He said the biggest supply problem is in the transportation/trucking sector.
I know a guy who drives a trash truck for a local outfit (not Waste Mgmt or Republic) he says they can’t get certain parts to keep their all rigs on the road. Don’t know if that is affecting OTR also.
