Anyone else notice the grocery store shelves are getting emptied out again and not being restocked?

By me (Michigan) - I noted that was exactly what was almost empty. I bought bags of dried beans and rice because of it.

My wife buys very little canned food. She's the healthy living one in our operation. We might have more refried beans, and that's about it.

Ditto on the healthy living - we're ingredient readers - some canned goods are fine. I've noticed that some produce is getting limited, and what they have doesn't seem to be the best quality. Really have to look around.

I did peek at the aisles of processed crap the last visit to the store, and there seemed to be plenty of that.

Lot of what the trash truck driver said is sort of correct.

Here is why the Independents quit.

The EPA regulations about DEF fluid. What happened is they said that the engines would run longer and are more effcient. They dont. After so many miles you have to change the exhaust filters and that is REALLY costly. The engines do NOT perform like they used to and last but a short while compared to the older mechanical injected engines. Besides that. The newer fuel rail systems are troublesome to say the least. You get any dirty fuel at all and it shuts down the engine.

It used to be you could run the same load with a 400 HP engine that they are now running with a 450 plus HP engine.
Everything is computer, when the computer detects something going to hell, everything comes to a screeching halt and aside the road you sit.
Tire are junk. Ever see the amount of caps spread on the highways these days?

Supply chain problems. They are not getting ironed out very fast. The idiotic reaction to the claim of a Covid Delta variant is causing a renewal of supply chain problems. We are basically circling the drain slowly.

Anyone notice EBT CARDS had their highest rate increase in the history of the program?

That just means the liquor aisle will be cleared out. I'm really not concerned about those people buying rice, beans, flour and canned goods.

My mom went to the Base Exchange last week. She said it was freakishly quiet and fully stocked. I told her to try again after everyone gets paid the first of the month and see what it looks like.

Re: The TP shortage

The first TP shortage in 2020 had a surprising origin...

About one third of toilet paper is (was) consumed at your place of work or public places like malls, taverns, schools, and colleges.

Suddenly, everyone was using their home bathroom most of the time.

Commercial toilet paper is packaged differently and with much larger quantities, and it is not distributed by the same vendors who stock your local grocery store.

Once shortages appeared at retail stores, panic buying set in, and it took several months to sort the whole mess out.

Let me explain how this actually works

Inventory is a cost. You produce goods you have to pay for the labor/raw material/storage costs etc.

You don’t get paid until you sell. So the whole time you are supposedly “sitting on supply” you are losing money while still having to pay all the bills

Mean while your competitors are supplying your customers thus eating away your market share. At the same time, you still having to pay all your bills while not making any money because you are supposedly “sitting on supply”

Then there the whole issue of shelf life. Your goods sitting “on hold” in your mythical world are aging. Once they get to be under 50% you end up selling them at a loss to salvage buyers because none of your customers will accept short shelf like product

The real world does not work the way your held over from the 1970s Leftist dogmas think it does.

Just stop lying like this about things you obviousy know NOTHING at all about.

The nextdoor.com site has people posting about this for weeks. I have noticed not able to get some groceries when I have them delivered. I had one lady from Instacart who says she has 7 kids <— ! who shops around and says stores do not have as much as before.

Good point

That was always the challenge when paid 1 time a month.

Making sure your paycheck covered the month

There are many reasons. All demorat caused. People don’t want to work, don’t want to be forced to get the shot, when nobody works, the stock rooms may have stock but it doesn’t make it to the floor, lack of truck drivers, shipping containers etc.

This is all on purpose, but don’t anyone worry Demon nanzi has well stocked giant freezers all for her ownself. Perhaps she needs some new Afghan renters for her land holdings.

Not my concern either - but the timing - along with Homeland putting out the crap about 'domestic terrorists (their word for Trump supporters) hoarding food - then the talk about empty shelves (but not in Florida or anyplace else for that matter)

..Along with the largest increase in food stamps look coordinated. Community organizer stuff... Unusual destabilizing 'timing'...

One more 'mistake' by Biden that will cause massive damage to the country that Biden can "deny". SOMEONE IS ATTEMPTING TO START A FOOD BUYING PANIC. But it's failing - our grocery stores are scrambling to keep things together and they're succeeding...

Maybe food works the same way.

It makes sense to me, in a non-scientific and totally off the cuff way, that when people stay home, they eat out less. We eat nearly all meals at home, and lately even "treat" meals out are pretty nonexistant.

So maybe what we see as a food shortage is actually the food supply not being redirected faster.

And before anyone craps on me, NO I am not some sort of logistics expert, just a regular guy wondering about stuff.

Just shop Walmart for grocery items, and see how many are now Out of stock. Precursor of what is to come, with government mandated rationing, and types of "social credit" requirements by both corporate and government.

YOTB-2

Not exactly like this.

I said commie/progressive are pushing panic buying but their failing at it.

This is community organizer/commie crap..

Yes there are real supply chain issues - but they’re being dealt with...

Yes, people on food stamps needed in increase to keep with inflation - but the LARGEST INCREASE IN THE HISTORY OF THE PROGRAM (WAAAAY OVER THE RATE OF INFLATION) AND

Homeland pushing domestic terrorists ARE (what commmie filth calls Trump Supporters) hoarding food ( a set up to condemn them IF they succeed at creating panic buying...

Then false stories about massive empty shelves (a lie)

ALL AT THE SAME TIME... It’s a concerted effort to destabilize the country.
