Yes, that’s been apparent for some time. What I was trying to understand is the false claim that a person who has received one of the vaccines cannot donate blood, or donate convalescent plasma. Neither is, or has been true, and it takes 30 seconds to go to the Red Cross website and find that the claim is false.
This seems to be tied to a second false claim that is circulating widely which roughly stated is that “the vaccines reduce neutralizing antibodies in previously infected but recovered individuals, and the “fact” that one cannot donate blood if one has received a vax is offered as proof of this.”
This is repeated ad nauseum here and by people I know in real life. One can easily find that this is phoney, but it has staying power. I’m trying to figure out what that is.

I hear you.
It seems to me that some folks get carried away - emotionally attached - to their opposition to vaccines, and either cannot, or will not admit that such theories are wrong, when contradictory facts come out. Cytokine Storm, ADE, genetic re-programming - they all keep recycling.
Whether they just want to feel like they have won an argument, or because they have an irrational (paranoid) fear, some won’t let go of their position. Maybe it is just that they have picked a side, and will keep cheering for their team, no matter what.
Pure Vulcan logic doesn’t sway everyone.
Another factor might be, that some folks ( especially those pre-disposed to oppose the vaccines), are just coming across this particular theory for the first time, and seize on it as confirmation. So there is a rolling wave of people who individually need to be disabused of each fallacious theory - like a virus gradually working through the population, until enough individuals have developed immunity.
