The United Nations opened a high-level donors conference Monday with the call for the world to urgently send $600 million to help fund the Taliban’s self-declared Islamic Caliphate of Afghanistan over the next three months. Again, stories like the one above are rather hard to believe when the US, EU, and UN are desperately trying to legitimize the Taliban government and ensure they are not short on cash or weapons anytime soon.
