despite a lack of scientific evidence for its benefits, and a substantial risk of harmful overdoses.

When an article starts off with an outright lie, it makes reading the rest somewhat less compelling. The staff of ScienceAlert should educate themselves before printing.

What a total crock of an article. Why are so many ‘experts’ so dead set against Ivermectin? Simple; follow the money!!

“Scientific evidence” does not mean reports from patients and their physicians that Ivermectin was responsible for keeping their COVID infection from getting worse or from contacting it. It means studies financed by pharmaceutical companies with government support that they have a very good chance of profiting from. I hope that clears things up.

There have already been lots of clinical trials. The problem is, the clinical trials show clearly that Ivermectin works and is safe. That is not what they want.
