The better question is how do you get the protozoa out of the kissing bugs and into the test tubes without leaving a bunch of bug parts in the mix.

Just as a thought exercise, given that I have no expertise in the area, I'd throw out a WAG that it would be derived from blood/plasma/other from an infected donor.
