I’m much more familiar with use of herbs than “supplements” whether mineral, vitamin or “other”. Whereas you put me in a room with amalaki, prunella, burdock, and kapi kacchu, and I’ll talk your ear off about energies, heating and cooling, diaphoretcs, alteratives and so on...

My naturopath doc said melatonin is helpful in cancer treatment, and it is also supposed to help with acid reflux, so I bought it for me and DH was dealing with horribile acid reflux. He could take it without any side effects at all; me - night of the living dead. Or day, didn’t matter. The zombie state lasted 24 hrs each time I tried it. We figured the dose out with a gram scale (got the powder) and used the amount you could fit on the very end of a flat toothpick. IOW a teensy tiny amount.

Even though I take way more “supplements” than the average person, a lot of them are single herbs or herbal blends packaged in capsules, and I’m only now getting my feet wet on just buying and taking the plain herbs instead. So I’d love to have you talk my ear off... I’m sure it would be quite an education!

I can sympathize with your reaction... you’ve said you’re also highly unpredictable with drugs, and I am too. I’ve sworn them off for that reason. About 30 years ago or so, I took a dose of Nyquil for a cold, and didn’t sleep for the next 72 hours, accompanied with strange tingling of my fingers and toes. About all I could do was endlessly pace around. Ugh!
