I try to always check a link to make sure it is what it says it is before I click on it. Some sites can inject bots into your system.

That sounds like a really good habit to get into.

I don’t click on many links, so I haven’t experienced the problem. If the source identified is foreign to me, I don’t click on it. I think now if it’s a link to a source I trust I may go direct to the source and bypass the link. For example if the source in the thread says it’s from the NY Post, I will go to the post directly and skip the link.
