The Maricopa Board of Supervisors now has 30 more days to comply with the Senate subpeona, after which the withholding of funds will kick in. I’m wondering how crippling the loss of funds will be to the day to day functioning of county government, and where this will all lead. If the loss has a serious detrimental effect on essential services, it may bring some real heat down on the county supervisors, perhaps forcing their resignations. Resignation would presumably lead to replacement with Supervisors who would comply with the subpeonas.
