I'm using Berlin's post as an opportunity to express my concern about the continued degradation of the quality of discussion on FR. Your civil and reasonable comments were consistently vilified by other Freepers in words that were boorish, ignorant and sometimes were just pure name-calling. Twenty years ago, when I joined FR, there might have been some of that but I don't think it was nearly as frequent or extreme as it is today. This is a tremendous disappointment. I wish there were a way to change it but I don't know what it could be. I just added CIVIL COMMENTER to my tag line. Maybe if more of us did that it could become an FR trend and discourage what we have seen in this shameful thread.
On the topic of COVID specifically, I am amazed at how many people want to discount someone's death by positing "underlying conditions" that they really know nothing about. Further, even if the person had an underlying condition, are they just dismissing that person's death? The fact is that the person did not have to die, even with underlying conditions, except for COVID.
Keep up the good fight.
I am nothing if not fun.
: )

Good post.
Roman, I appreciate your fiery conviction and I take it seriously.
GASDR and MOMMD and other busy FReeper professionals who take the time to share your informed frontline perspectives here, your input is highly valued and you are one of the things that make FR great. Thanks for your patience and for caring enough to speak up.
Not quite sure what to do with Bagster and Berlin, but hey.
I appreciate your comments.
