Pelosi doesn't automatically become POTUS if Biden disappears, then Kamala. As soon as Kamala becomes POTUS she gets to choose a VP and the Senate confirms. That person would be POTUS if Kamala is removed.

As soon as Kamala becomes POTUS she gets to choose a VP and the Senate confirms. Actually, both chambers have to confirm a VP nomination. The House is not in question, but a tied Senate is.
However, Republicans are like herding cats, and McConnell has no control over his caucus like the Democrats do with theirs.
