What does 'falls under the Houston consulate' mean, Lyby?

I *think* it means that was the closest Chinese consulate for some people living in Alabama. IDK. But, one of our sons and his Colombian bride deal with the consulate/embassy that's in Atlanta. I don't know the difference either between consulate and embassy.

But if you type in a search, "chinese consulate houston tx," there are articles, related to the closure, still available. (Sorry. Can't figure out how you get your Little Allie Sherlock hyperlink thingie to function. I worked with the directions I'd saved for like 30 minutes before prayer time. - ransomnote instructed me last night as to the error in my html code for picture size.🥰)

The embassy is like the main office for a country, which is usually located say in Washington DC and the consulates are smaller branches with locations is some major cities.

So, if you are a Russian living in the California and need help you can go to a consulate to get help, which I believe is located in the formerly lovely city of San Fran.

Fresno has a Mexican Consulate, sahprize!
