Aside from my husband and myself, I know a could other people who caught it twice.

NOT lucky us, LOL.

I caught a mild, but “regular” head cold a month or so back - and let me tell you - there is a HUGH difference in the way it “felt” compared to covid. It felt “normal”. In the way that you would know the difference between eating a real apple and eating a wax apple, no way to confuse the two.

I agree, people would ask me how it felt and the only way I could explain it was the symptoms felt artificial or engineered. Was a real stuffy nose but afrin nose spray cleared it right up. There was no achy body but felt like I had stayed up for 2 days straight. Slept it off for about 5 days. Had a slight cough. Guessing I had no real underlying conditions for it to react to.

Usually if I catch a cold I feel like I am dying for a couple of days then start feeling better.
