Moderna released a statement on Thursday claiming that their COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness “does not wane in the first 6 months after the second dose,” reported the New York Times. I’ve not been able to find anything that says Covid antibodies last more than eight months, but there are people who got infected with Covid in 17 months ago in March 2020 that could be tested.

I had the hay fever version last week. My wife had a more severe case. Lethargy, headaches, and lost her taste and smell. They still haven’t returned.
The Israeli Ministry of Health apparently found that only about 50 people got really bad adverse reactions to their third jab out of 600,000.

How many strains are there that current vaccines/gene therapies do not work?
How long to make vaccines for those strains?
How long to distribute those treatments?
Even if the vaccines/therapies did work better, with a six month limit and new strains, vaccinating our way out if this is running into problems.

The Moderna vaccine is STILL 92% effective after six months and the duration of its long term effectiveness is still being measured.
Yes, there's a profit motive for Moderna boosters, which is why Moderna mentioned them in an earnings call to investors, but that fact has NOTHING to do with the long term effectiveness of their current vaccine.

The vaccine is long, long gone by then. It is how long the antibodies stick around that is at issue and whether you have T-cell / B-cell long term immunity.
