“ Here is another good post on twitter with more in the thread.
1/ Stunning news from Iceland - among the world’s most vaccinated countries - today.
Facing a huge new #Covid outbreak that translates into ~100,000 new US cases a day, the country’s chief epidemiologist now says natural infection is the only way to reach herd immunity…”

That’s a VERY wise move by Iceland. Locking down the economy yet again would do nothing beneficial. The “LET ‘ER RIP” strategy to achieve herd immunity is reality based. Those Icelanders who want to be vaccinated are vaccinated. IF they get COVID-19 and survive, those who are unvaccinated will get NATURAL IMMUNITY. Vaccinated Icelanders who get a “breakthrough” COVID-19 “case” will have their immunity strengthened.
GOOD MOVE, ICELAND. Herd immunity is good.
It’s the only thing that will work for a coronavirus. They mutate too quickly and have a reservoir in animal populations.
Smallpox was contained because it has no animal reservoir.
Vaccinated Icelanders who get a “breakthrough” COVID-19 “case” will have their immunity strengthened.

Do we know that?
Do they still have he ability to create non-specific, neutralizing antibodies? Can their immune systems still function with their bodies continuing to produce spike proteins?
I’m seriously questioning.
I’m also unsure what happens to the immune systems of the recovered if they then receive an inoculation. Can the mRNA instructions destroy the existing immune system? Do the specific, short-lived antibodies counteract the existing cellular immunity?
